This actuator (Part #12 in the diagram in our pictures) controls the exhaust flow to give maximum power and torque through low and high RPM ranges. When your exhaust valve actuator goes bad, you do not get optimal performance out of your engine. The normal solution is to buy an expensive OEM unit or just lock your broken acuator out. Not the case anymore, now you can repair it yourself and get your motor running like it should. This actuator repair kit will work on several Johnson Outboards from 2006-2019. No need to buy the complete assembly for $550 when you can repair your own for a fraction of the price. This kit will include the electric circuit board side that will interchange with both 3 and 4 pin plugs, a new gear set, new O-ring for the case and a new Quad O-Ring for the shaft.
